Vikram Phatak is CEO at NSS Labs and is responsible for leading the company’s endeavors to advance transparency and accountability within the cybersecurity industry. Vik is one of the industry's foremost thought leaders and has more than 20 years of cybersecurity experience. Under Vik’s leadership, NSS Labs has become recognized globally as the most trusted source for independent fact-based cybersecurity guidance.

Prior to NSS Labs, he founded and led several Internet and cybersecurity companies including Lucid Security and Intermedia Sciences Group, one of the first internet service providers and security consulting firms in the U.S.

Jason Brvenik brings more than 20 years of experience in systems design, integration, and security for both commercial and open markets.  He was most recently a Principal Engineer in the Office of the Chief Security Architect at Cisco, a role he assumed after the $2.7 billion acquisition of Sourcefire in 2013.  Prior to Cisco Jason was a Fellow and Vice President of Security Strategy at Sourcefire.

As Chief Technology Officer (CTO), he will further build out the company’s security testing programs and cyber threat protection technologies to address the many gaps that exist in security today. Brvenik joined NSS Labs to drive the company’s unique opportunity to improve the overall state of security for the industry, given its independent third-party testing model and approach to security strategy, and bring out “truth in security” for buyers when evaluating vendors.

During his 11 years at Sourcefire, Brvenik served as a Fellow and Vice President of Security Strategy, and previously managed field technical staff across the Americas as senior director of technical services. Given his experience creating secure manageable systems in a variety of scale and form, he also served as Sourcefire’s principal technologist, ensuring that technical solutions could scale to meet customers’ security requirements.

Jason is a recognized security thought leader by leading publications such as Bloomberg Businessweek, Fortune, Network World, Information Security Magazine, and a bevy of other technical trade and business publications. He is a frequent speaker, including RSA Conference, as well as many government and industry verticals where he has helped the industry more broadly adopt groundbreaking security strategies.




As Senior Vice President of Products, Dina Bruzek leads NSS Labs’ Product Organization and is responsible for guiding the execution of the company’s product strategy across the engineering and product management groups. Dina brings more than 20 years of experience leading teams in the development of market-leading cybersecurity products. Prior to joining NSS Labs, Dina led Cisco’s Network Threat Defense (NTD) group, where she was responsible for a $1.5 billion product portfolio. Dina joined Cisco through the 2013 acquisition of Sourcefire for $2.7 billion. At Cisco, she led the company’s strategy to deliver the first threat-focused next generation firewall. In addition, she led the integration of the Sourcefire and Cisco development teams and the agile transformation of the development and test organizations to form the NTD group, which consisted of more than 800 engineers. Before joining Cisco, Dina was the Vice President of Product Development at Sourcefire, where she was responsible for software and hardware development for Sourcefire network security products. She has also held various technical, strategic, and management roles in Internet security at Secure Computing Corporation and Network Associates. She started her career as a communications systems engineer at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. Dina holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and an MS in Electric Engineering from Johns Hopkins University.




As Vice President of Vendor Ecosystem, Emeka Obianwu is responsible for fostering strategic relationships across the community of security product vendors for security testing and research and advisory services. Prior to NSS Labs, Emeka held the position of Vice President of Worldwide Channel Sales at Ping Identity. Emeka joined Ping Identity in 2016 with the acquisition of UnboundID, where he served as Vice President of Channels and Alliances and was responsible for leading partner, channel, and related market expansion initiatives. Before UnboundID, Emeka led Corporate Development for Troux Technologies, where he managed strategic go-to-market alliances. Previously, he oversaw business development at BuildForge, which was acquired by IBM in 2006. Following the acquisition, Emeka was part of the IBM business development team focused on identifying new growth markets, merger and acquisition candidates, and channels for the Rational brand. He holds both a BS and an MS in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University.




Cathy Main leads strategic relations, corporate communications, brand strategy, and thought leadership initiatives for the company.

Cathy is an accomplished executive with over 20 years experience in strategic business development, public relations, marketing, and management. Prior to joining NSS, she was Vice President Marketing for Deluxe Entertainment Services Group, where she was responsible for developing and executing brand development, corporate media relations, advertising campaigns, digital media, and events worldwide.




As Vice President of Human Resources at NSS Labs, Susan Bollinger is responsible for leading all aspects of human resources strategy, including organizational development, talent management, recruitment and staffing, performance management, employee relations, and compensation and benefits.

Susan has a wealth of experience leading teams and programs in fast-paced, dynamic environments. She has HR leadership experience in organizations of all sizes, from small businesses to Fortune 10 companies, including Hewlett Packard, Applied Materials, and Certain Affinity.

Susan holds a BA in Comparative Literature from Indiana University and has extensive training in organizational effectiveness, human resources, and business administration.




Mike Spanbauer, a recognized leader in security and infrastructure technologies, leads the analyst team in creating research that combines years of testing experience with quantitative analysis of the world’s leading security companies, products, and markets. In addition to running the company's research organization, he also advises clients on how best to address today’s cybersecurity threats.

Prior to joining NSS, Mike was Service Director at Current Analysis, managing the Business Technology and Software group which monitored, analyzed, and advised on application platforms, collaboration platforms, data center technology, enterprise mobility technology, enterprise networking, enterprise security, and unified communications and contact centers. Previously, he spent nearly 15 years at Hewlett-Packard where he established and managed competitive intelligence programs networking hardware and in network management software.

Mike is well respected within the enterprise and carrier communities for his comprehensive insights into the domains and management of cloud, networking, cybersecurity, and software-defined networking. He has spoken at multiple industry events as a subject matter expert and as a Track Chair.




Lisa Owen serves as Vice President of Operations, bringing over 15 years of program management and operational strategic planning experience. She is responsible for all aspects of operational function within NSS Labs including Test and Technical Services.

Lisa has held senior level management positions at Deloitte, IBM, and Aon Hewitt, with a focus on process improvement, relationship building, and strategic planning and execution.

Lisa holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Texas at Austin.
