Recent compromises of CAs (Certificate Authority) Diginotar and Comodo have allowed attackers to compromise the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption of many organizations. The CIA, Microsoft, Google, and Apple, along with over 500 other organizations were notified of the compromise which allows attackers to perform a reliable and consistent man-in-the-middle (MITM) attack.
