Unified Threat Management: IBM Proventia Network Multi-Function Security System MX-3006 Q2 2008
The IBM Proventia MX3006 was the first product to undergo the NSS Labs Product Report on PCI Suitability for UTMs. In Q1 of 2008, NSS Labs performed comprehensive testing of the IBM ISS Proventia MX3006 appliance as a Unified Threat Management (UTM) for use in payment card environments. This report contains the conclusions and associated data from a series of exacting tests performed on a device installed in our real-world test lab. Support for PCI DSS requirements was very impressive. NSS Labs found that the Proventia MX3006 successfully passed 58 DSS requirements, and supported 59 others indirectly with no failures. Overall, out of 117 tested requirements, the product supports 100%. Recommended configurations are also provided in the report.
