McAfee M-8000: SUM Q3 2009

The McAfee M-8000 achieved its first NSS Labs Gold Award for Q2 and Q3,
2009. It was also the first 10 Gbps IPS product to pass our rigorous
certification process in January 2009, and it maintained two months of
high achievements on our SUM testing (April and May). The M-8000 ably
identified and blocked 100% of the 222 live attacks in our April 2009
test suite, and 100% of the 228 attacks in May. Even the more difficult
client-initiated attacks, which generally pose greater challenges for
vendors, were thwarted. Using the same policy and signatures, the M-8000
was able to maintain throughput of 10Gbps in our real-world performance
testing. Thus, we are pleased to award NSS Labs Gold for Q2 and Q3,
2009 to the McAfee M-8000.
