Network IPS Group Test 2010

During Q4 2010, NSS Labs performed the industry’s most rigorous test of leading IPS solutions as an update to our Q4 2009 Network IPS Group Test. Thirteen different network IPS products were tested, including stand-alone IPS and multi-function gateways, and one unified threat management product. Our test included a total of 1,179 unique exploits; we retired 92 attacks and added 112 new exploits as compared with the 2009 IPS Group Test. In addition, we added a new and increasingly important evasion category: HTML evasions. Lastly, per feedback from our enterprise customers, we substantially increased our false positive testing.
