Mr. Phatak is CTO and leads the
research team at NSS Labs. He has over 15 years of experience in
computer, network and information security. Prior to joining NSS Labs Mr.
Phatak was CTO of Trustwave, founded and was CTO for an intrusion prevention
product company, was chief security architect for a Fortune 500 company, and
started one of the first internet service providers back in 1994.
Bob
Walder leads NSS Labs' research on security product testing, covering
performance, security effectiveness, and device management, as well as
third-party testing services. He also specializes in network infrastructure
protection, threat management, and Internet security.
Bob has over 30 years in the computer industry. He founded NSS Labs in 1991 as Europe's first independent network test lab. By 1998 NSS was focused entirely on the security space, and in Q2 2007 the company opened its first US-based lab in Austin, Texas to better serve customer needs.
In 2010, Bob's desire to move into a pure analysis role led him to join Gartner as Research Director in the Security, Privacy & Risk team, covering network infrastructure security and mobile security issues. In 2011, Bob returned to NSS Labs as Chief Research Officer to further enhance the research and analysis business within NSS.
